The Man In The Moon

I have this rattling noise in my ears,
And I know that the stars could not hear,
Somebody shook this whole universe around,
And I'm still here and can't utter a sound,
Trapped under the collapse looking up,
Through rain and sleet that had me stuck,
It looks like the light is breaking through,
And I still believe that there's a man in the moon

This man always dreams before he sings,
And then falls victim to recurring winds,
Dancing around shivers like a hellion,
Nailing down haven as the world comes undone,
There's a man in the moon and he still waits,
I just woke up and it's getting too late,
These back roads can't take me back home soon,
But I still believe that there's a man in the moon

Looking distantly through the stormy air,
Dusty cliffs facing the storms out there,
Lean on branches swaying fro in the storm,
Twigh light wings lifted won't keep you warm,
Ravens fly from limbs despite the freeze,
Spinning shadowy webs between all the trees,
Oh, what a large void the night has strewn,
But I still believe that there's a man in the moon

Moonlight reflects on the quiet river bend,
Trudge through waters only love can wend,
The moonlight shines down through the leaves,
Guiding me past brier shadows being weaved,
Rodin sculpted from broken pieces of night,
Silently dreaming as he longs for light,
Taking flight are the words he must attune,
But I still believe that there's a man in the moon
