Even if they don't say it,
You know you're dead to them,
Every last one of your friends,
Your know you're dead to them
And you can't get rid of them,
The thoughts you should'a done somethin',
Taking steps to find your way back to them,
It all adds up to nothin',
Tell it to me straight up,
Don't remind me in silence,
I can still hear my heart beat,
It's not quite that quiet,
Fingers resting on the telephone digits,
I threw the phone across the room,
And it opened up a previous wound,
All I want is to be closer to you,
Is that too much for me to ask for?
To acknowledge my existence,
Even from a distance,
Can I talk to you without feeling this resitance?,
A sprout that never broke past the surface,
My body aches in ways it never knew before,
In places that rattle my nerves to the very core,
What's the use when you have nothing left anymore?
Even if they don't say it,
You know you're dead to them,
Every last one of your friends,
Your know you're dead to them
The mirror has been broken down on the floor,
I stare down at it always to remind me,
That they would never search to find me,
They all still remember me blindly,
They never got to meet the person inside me,
They made me into what I am today,
And to have them all back, one day, I pray,
How can they that think I get by day by day,
The years go by but there is no yesterday,
I look back as if there had been a ghost,
Through the fog sirens squack from a hitching post,
I wish I could turn back to those I miss the most,
But I keep telling myself its too late for that,
The road is double sided and I reached its end,
The siren's leash suspended me but didn't have me penned,
Looks like I'm gonna have to start over again,
I ain't laughing 'cause I know my life was a joke,
If I laugh its a crude reminded to all them folks,
Even if they don't say it,
You know you're dead to them,
Every last one of your friends,
Your know you're dead to them

The Link That Broke The Chain
Baby, I did you wrong,
So I looked back in time so long,
I am the link that broke the chain,
And now only the lock remains
I have leapt off the top of the world,
And I have flown all around,
And nothing could bring me down,
Except for your hands unfurled,
Some people have been broken into,
When the bars feel the most cold,
And I’d say that I am growin’ old,
Feeling every step I take without you
Baby, I did you wrong,
So I looked back in time so long,
I am the link that broke the chain,
And now only the lock remains
Lining up at chain link fences,
To face these firing squads,
You looked away from me to nod,
Brought you down, lost my senses,
If there’s a way this world could change,
It would all but certainly abandon me,
Cast away to face the ruthless seas,
Jagged barbs lashing out from the chains
Baby, I did you wrong,
So I looked back in time so long,
I am the link that broke the chain,
And now only the lock remains
Thrashing thunderous hammers down,
Uneasy minds are not put to rest,
When dreaming of what is blessed,
Knowing it won’t come back around,
Waterfalls build up from streams,
On life’s road you run over stones,
Imagine feeling quakes and end up alone,
If you think that ripples are serene
Baby, I did you wrong,
So I looked back in time so long,
I am the link that broke the chain,
And now only the lock remains
So I looked back in time so long,
I am the link that broke the chain,
