The flame's a gettin' higher,
But I don't really care,
Let the house burn down,
'Til it hits the ground
So much neglect within these walls,
I just couldn't wait to see it fall,
The orange glow is enough to keep me warm,
As Rembrant sweeps up sails from the storm,
The majesty of the road ahead,
As black as the ashes of the dead,
The floor planks outstretched above the sea,
The dust in my eyes from past centuries
The flame's a gettin' higher,
But I don't really care,
Let the house burn down,
'Til it hits the ground
My arms are grasping my teddy bear,
A little smoldered with wear and tear,
Gasping for air was this smothered doll,
Feathered stuffing falling out like snow fall,
I'm feeling the smoke build in my lungs,
Been dry coughing since I was very young,
Was sick of the dim light in my room,
Flames fueled by the smell of old perfume
The flame's a gettin' higher,
But I don't really care,
Let the house burn down,
'Til it reaches the ground

Extraordinary Woman
She's an extraordinary woman,
oh, oh,
She ain't no ordinary woman,
no, no,
She's an extraordinary woman,
And it's about time I told her so
When she packed up her bags,
I wasn't ready to go,
Back to the barren places,
My heart's grown to know,
If I could tell her anything,
The words I hope to find,
From the depths of my prayers,
To the tricks on my eyes
She's an extraordinary woman,
oh, oh,
She ain't no ordinary woman,
no, no,
She's an extraordinary woman,
And it's about time I told her so
She's the only one I see,
Looking past all their facades,
No one I could hold so near,
When the starlight gently nods,
On this empty dance floor,
The last glimmer of a spark,
I'm reaching out for her arms,
To lead me out from the dark
She's an extraordinary woman,
oh, oh,
She ain't no ordinary woman,
no, no,
She's an extraordinary woman,
And it's about time I told her so
I've been wasting precious time,
That has kept me shoved aside,
There's no way I can contain,
My love for her building inside,
What gave me shelter long ago,
Dreams that bitter winds subside,
She's an extraordinary woman,
I ain't waisting more of my time
She's an extraordinary woman,
oh, oh,
She ain't no ordinary woman,
no, no,
She's an extraordinary woman,
And it's about time I told her so
oh, oh,
She ain't no ordinary woman,

Her Arms Around Me
Crawling through a war zone on barbed wire,
Thought I'd escape the war crawling under fire,
The branches I've clung have never reached the sky,
And below the crash my wounds have never dried,
A sculpture wrought my heart with craggy hands,
Chipping away at the rock walls can't withstand,
Dirt mounts over wounds and covers them like graves,
A black widow watching over forsaken roads she paved
Don't go back to find what you still don't know,
I've started switching through stations on the radio,
There's bound to be some comfort in familiar songs,
About fixing that busted flat and rolling along,
Behind me she spins webs as punctured wheels whirl,
As screeching smoke ablates the figure of a girl,
Ghostly haze clutched to a mystified automobile,
Just picking up dust after falling asleep at the wheel
Turn this car around at the very next chance,
From my rear view mirror rifts a shattered romance,
Looking ahead for the first time since I drove,
Through disappearing smoke fierce thorns of a rose,
My thundering engine beats like a heart in pain,
These highways colliding like drums on every vain,
It's hard to remind myself that it's at an end,
When I can't be sure if I'll make it past the bend
The man in the moon always dreams before he sings,
Only to fall victim to these recurring winter winds,
My shivering just encourages waltzing hellions,
Nailing down my haven as the earth comes undone,
There's a man in the moon too restless to wait,
I just wake up and feel that it's getting so late,
Back roads I've been led to can't take me back home,
Moonlight shinning on stormy roads like ocean foam
Looking distantly through the night's stormy air,
Dusty cliffs facing storms are flooding out there,
Leaning on branches swaying fro in the storm,
Twighlight wings lifted will not keep you warm,
Ravens fly from limb to limb despite the freeze,
Spinning their shadowy webs between the trees,
From hill tops my heart hums the most somber tune,
Oh, what a large void that the night has strewn
Somebody shook this entire universe around,
I'm still trapped inside it and can't utter a sound,
A rattling noise has enveloped my distant ears,
Smothering a voice so faint that stars would never hear,
Been trapped under the night's collapse looking up,
Through rain and sleet having fastened me shut,
Feels like the light is finally breaking through,
Her arms around me, she's the one I feel closest to
Thought I'd escape the war crawling under fire,
The branches I've clung have never reached the sky,
And below the crash my wounds have never dried,
A sculpture wrought my heart with craggy hands,
